The Portfolio Intake Management Product Overview

The Request Module represents the Dragonboat Portfolio Intake Product of the Dragonboat platform.

The Request module is to host items not yet a roadmap item. You may also rename request as Feedback, Intake, Opportunity, Idea, Insight, Explore, etc.

What are the differences between a request and a roadmap item?

  1. A request reflects something before it becomes a roadmap item. It could be a customer initiated bug, feedback or feature request. Or a product idea / concept still being discussed, explored but not finalized yet. More context can be added and collaboration with more people as well. Once it has more clarity as how the feature or initiative should work and how it may be built, and become worthy as an investment option, it can be promoted or link to a roadmap item.
  2. A roadmap item is a relatively well thought out investment, like a feature or an initiative. It typically has a scope. A roadmap item is not always a work item.
