In Dragonboat, you have full control over how and when you receive notifications, as well as the ability to update your personal profile. You can change these settings anytime to suit your preferences.
Notification Methods
Dragonboat supports multiple notification methods:
- In-app notifications
- Email notifications
- Slack/Teams notifications (when integrated)
Always-On Notifications
You will always receive notifications for the following:
- In-app notifications
- Mentions in Slack/Teams (if your account is integrated with these tools - learn more)
Configurable Notification Conditions
You can customize your notification preferences by going to the Personal Settings > Notification Tab. Here, you can select which notifications you want to receive based on specific actions or events.
Key Automated Notifications:
-
Request Status Changes: If you are the request owner or a watcher, you will receive automated notifications when the status of a request changes.
(Admins can configure custom status mappings to trigger these updates.)
Notification Triggers:
- Added as Owner: You will receive notifications when you're added as an owner to a request or portfolio item.
- Dependency Changes: Both the owner and watchers of a portfolio item (ideas, initiatives, or bets) will be notified about changes to the item itself or any related dependencies (e.g., items that are blocking the item).
How to Receive Notifications
Managing Your Notification Preferences
To manage your notification settings:
- Click on your avatar in the top right corner of the screen.
- Select Personal Settings.
- Go to the Notification Preferences section.
- From there, you can choose your notification methods (in-app, email, and/or Slack/Teams) for each relevant action or event.
These notifications will be triggered for items you own or are watching.
Note: As an owner, you are also automatically a watcher of the item. The notification settings in Notification Preferences specifically apply to Roadmap Items, not Request Items.
@Mention Notifications
When you @mention someone in a comment or update:
- The user will receive a notification in-app and an email alerting them that they were mentioned in Dragonboat.
- The user can click on the link in the email or the notification in-app to view the comment and respond accordingly.
Update Your Profile Information
To update your personal profile:
- Go to My Preferences.
- Here, you can:
- Change your name and email address.
- Update your password.
Note: Your profile photo will automatically be pulled from your account’s SSO provider and cannot be edited directly within Dragonboat.
