How to Merge Portfolio Items

Admins or Editors may merge multiple portfolio items into one:

  1. Users can merge Ideas, Initiatives, or Bets on the Portfolio List screen using the Bulk Update function.
  2. The Merge function is limited to the same item level and is not available when displaying mixed layers. If you’re viewing items in a hierarchy (e.g., Initiatives or Bets with sub-items or items without a parent), the Merge option will not be shown.
  3. Users will select which item to merge into another and which item will be kept
  4. All sub-items of the selected items will be moved under the chosen item. For example, if merging at the Initiative level, all Ideas linked to the merged Initiatives will be transferred to the retained Initiative. Similarly, if merging Bets, all associated Initiatives and Ideas will be carried over under the retained Bet.

The estimates and assignment will not merge from other items. The selected item will keep its own assignments/ estimates, if any.
