You can create an epic from Dragonboat to Jira, or link the existing Jira epic with an idea in Dragonboat.
A common workflow is to start within Dragonboat: define objectives and strategic drivers, prioritize and plan ideas in Dragonboat, then push confirmed ideas to Jira as an epic for execution. On an ongoing basis, Dragonboat pulls automated progress update from Jira to Dragonboat.
To create an epic, enter the Jira project key on the Idea edit screen. The epic will be created along with the mapped field value passed to Jira.
Sometimes epics may start from Jira. For example, requests may be collected in Jira and once it's ready for roadmap consideration, it may be converted into an EPIC and pulled into Dragonboat to plan along with other features.
To link an existing epic with an idea, enter the Jira issue key, e.g. KEY-123. The epic will be connected with the Dragonboat idea. The mapped fields will be updated based on the field mapping setting.
From Dragonboat to Jira
From Jira to Dragonboat
You may set up recurring import by defining a JQL query and map relevant fields from Jira to Dragonboat.
The pulling of EPICs from Jira will create new ideas and ignore those that already exist in Dragonboat.
Now your 2 systems are in sync.
